Artadi El Pisón is the winery’s smallholding wine, made with Tempranillo grapes from a vineyard planted in 1945 in Laguardia, 480 meters above sea level, on deep calcareous clay soils. Eco-friendly winegrowing is practiced in this vineyard, with certification from the 2016 vintage onwards. The average yield is 3500 kg / ha.

The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in 15 kg boxes, with the selection being performed in the vineyard itself. Once in the cellar they ferment with native yeasts in open wooden vats for 10-12 days with daily treading and a small pump-over. The malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels where the wine remains for 12 months.

The mild winter preceded a mild spring and a hot summer. The end of August was marked by a drop in temperature and a hailstorm that affected the vineyards to the south of Laguardia and Elvillar. The harvest of this 2020 vintage is 35% smaller than that of, for example, 2018.
